kochleffel Posted August 3, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2018 I happhave a Nexus card, for expedited entry between Canada and the United States. Is it accepted at either Halifax or Bar Harbor, or should I not even bother to bring it?
Rare martincath Posted August 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2018 I don't believe that you'll get any special treatment, but it is valid for immigration when arriving by sea - so whichever port you do immigration in you can use it instead of a passport. I'd bring it anyway though - if you're flying to or from the cruise it will benefit you in all Canadian airports, but you need to show the physical card to get into the short queues (no TSA, so the 'TSA Pre approved' on your boarding pass is meaningless up here). Northern Aurora Posted August 12, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2018 We have been through the US Immigration face-to-face inspection at Bar Harbor four times since last fall. For US citizens it is quite quick -- you have your passport open to the photo page and the agent makes sure you are the person in the photo. The cruise staff have folks in lines just walking through. When we disembarked in Bayonne (in our case) we still had to go through US Customs and Immigration in the cruise terminal.
