Boston Cruise Port shuttle

Recommended Posts

Our cruise on Grandeur of the Seas stops in Boston on Saturday June 25th. Does anyone know if Royal Caribbean provides a complimentary shuttle from the port to the downtown area. We were on this cruise back in 2007 and recall a shuttle service to the Faneuil Hall area. We were planning a duck tour from the New England Aquarium and were trying to plan the best way to get to the departure point.

You could walk from the port to the new England aquarium. maybe a 15 minute walk along the water or you could take the water taxi from the World Trade Center (the long building with all the flags on it) over to the aquarium.

We loved taking the water taxi to the downtown area. Even the taxi ride itself

was like an excursion...and cheap at that!! Great way to see the water front

and nice to be dropped off right in town from the ship dock.

Be prepared to run into local tour guides that will try to steer you in the

wrong direction and give you misleading information. The taxi picks you

up at the upper end of the pier/dock. You will need to call for pick up.

No one has mentioned any kind of complimentary shuttle from Black Falcon Terminal to the Faneuil Hall area, but they have mentioned there are shuttles you can pay for. A cab estimate would be about $12. A round trip of $24 would be competitive for two people buying the ship's shuttle. Coming back you could wander down the Harborwalk back towards the Cruiseport and just hail a cab when you get tired of walking. Uber is also an option.

15 min seems rather short.... Google Maps says its 36-39 minutes if you walk

I totally agree. When I worked at the World Trade Center, I walked to the Aquarium area several times for business lunches and always took a cab back to the office. That's a shorter walk at 20-25 minutes. IMO once you cross over into the Seaport Area, it's a really boring walk.

If the ship shuttle is $20/pp, I'd be getting a cab or Uber.
