Buddysmom10 Posted October 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2017 We're coming in on a cruise in a couple of weeks and will be in each port from 9am-6pm. I'm thinking of either renting a car in Halifax and driving to Peggy's Cove or renting in Sydney and driving up the east coast of the Cabot Trail to Ingonish or possibly to Neil's Harbour. There were comments that the drive on Cabot's Trail is scary, no guardrails in places. Can anyone comment on that? Is that more on the west side rather than the east? Which would you recommend? Thanks for any info!
FredZiffle Posted October 6, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2017 We're renting a car in Sydney in a couple of weeks also. I had not heard the warnings about the Cabot Trail before, but your post caused me to do some research. https://www.tripsavvy.com/driving-the-cabot-trail-2972640 We're planning on driving to the Alexander Graham Bell Museum, so I guess we'll be on the Cabot Trail for quite a bit. Could be interesting... In Halifax, the drive to Peggy's Cove is easy and actually has some decent views along the way as I recall.
