MSEm Posted March 28, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2013 We will be boarding the VR Spirit on Sunday, March 31, 2013. We need to know where the VR Spirit docks in Paris. Are there any "landmarks" to look for the VR Spirit Dock? Thanks MSEm
Paulinda Posted March 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2013 WOW, you will be leaving soon and you should have recd some documents from Viking telling you where the ship will be docked. if not, you should call Viking and find out from them, pronto! Have a fun trip.

MSEm Posted March 28, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted March 28, 2013 I did find the docking area map in the booklet. I will call today to check with VR. Did you do the Louve tour? Did the guided tour include more than just the Mona L and V of Milo? We will be in Paris for 3 full days after the cruise. MSEm
WarEagle76 Posted March 29, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 29, 2013 We did not take Viking's Louvre tour as had booked our own and went during our pre-stay prior to the cruise. That said, due to the size of the Louvre, on most tours you are only going to see the highlights in 3-4 hours. If you really want to Explore the Louvre in depth, you may want to do that during your extra time in Paris. We also really enjoyed walking around the area near the Louvre where there are beautiful parks filled with interesting statues and sculptures. Regarding the dock, if you are taking a taxi, we printed the information from the Viking booklet we received and handed it to the driver who spoke no English (or at least did not let on that he knew any) and he had no problem finding our dock. MSEm Posted March 29, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted March 29, 2013 Thanks for the info on the Louve. I think we will also visit and plan for a day. MSEm
rcaruso Posted March 29, 2013 #7 Share Posted March 29, 2013 If you are staying a few extra days in Paris you can get the Museum Pass. You can do the Louvre and Dorsay on your own. The D'Orsay was pretty cool. The subway system is easy to use and walking is pretty easy too. We were there over Christmas and New Year and Paris was packed with people. At the hotel Viking was using at the time the Viking rep and concierege at the hotel could take care of any need. We were not able to visit Monet's gardens as they were closed so we went to the small town where Vincent Van Gogh died. They had walking stops along the way in town showing the subject of Van Gogh's paintings there. In the D"Orsay were several he painted in the village.
