KamiKake Posted August 6, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2018 We are traveling in a balcony cabin on Independence in November and are wondering if there is a way to hook up our laptop (via HDMI cable) to the TV so we can watch movies? Thanks!
Clarea Posted August 6, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2018 There is usually an HMDI input, however it may not be selectable using the supplied remote. Sometimes channel 3 selects the HDMI input. Some have reported good luck bringing a universal remote to select the HDMI input.
Biker19 Posted August 6, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 6, 2018 Yes - the HDMI input should be on channel 3.
Rare orville99 Posted August 6, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 6, 2018 Not sure if it is like this on all the ships, but the HDMI ports are disabled on Oasis TVs. The only way to get by this is to unplug their HDMI cable from the back of the TV and plug your device in there. (Which is what we do);)
smakle Posted August 19, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 19, 2018 I’m on NCL Dawn now. TV source input is disabled. Anyway to walk around it? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Clarea Posted August 19, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 19, 2018 I’m on NCL Dawn now. TV source input is disabled. Anyway to walk around it? Some have been able to use a universal remote to select the alternate input. Also, it appears that some Royal ships use the channel 3 selection to select the alternate input. You might also try asking this on the NCL forum.

I am trying to see if I can use a universal remote app to see if it works. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
