Recommendations for excursion in Amber Cove

Looking for a great excursion that includes the cable car. Trying to pick a company and wanted to know if anyone had any they loved or ones to avoid! Thank you

We did the off road atv . They were 2 seaters. I wasnt looking foward to this particular excursion, however I LOVED IT!. It was so much more. We got to go into a locals house, see how they live , swim in a spring, view from a mt top, crack fresh coconut and drink from it( everyone got thier own) . This was by far my favorite thing ive ever done in 8 cruises. To experience thier way of life, see the island in all its beauty. It was a humbling experience.

We just picked up an excursion from one of the vendors outside the dock. There were a lot of people selling tours there. We had not been to the DR and just wanted a tour; we didn't even know about the cable car.

The tour was about 3 hours, just the two of us, for $30. We saw the cable car on our way into Puerto Plata and our driver was willing to stop there on the way back. We had a nice tour of the city, malecon and the fort, then went on the cable car at an additional cost of $8 (I think) pp. Really enjoyed the ride, although going up it was very crowded.

I think you could have booked a tour that included the cable car if you asked; we just didn't even know it was there.

It was a carnival excursion. I tried to book it on my own ,it is only offered through carnival. They wont book cruise passengers independently.
