TNCruzer56 Posted April 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2018 We have booked the Costa Delizisosa (spirit class) and have picked a stern facing cabin. Never had one. Noise, vibration, smoke, seem to come up on google searches. Deck 6. Watching some of the great Europe ports at sail away sounds good. - Question: Can you look down on below balconies and be looked upon from above? Don`t want that. Unusual vibration? Smoke-from the smokestack...as the Med is somewhat calm when we sail. - Any and all feedback will be appreciated!
tenpin Posted April 24, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2018 There are very few balcony cabins that are overlooked from above, rear facing are usually suites, you may see just the edge of the balcony below or anyone standing at the rail. There is some vibration from the screws when running at 2 thirds or full speed, but normally in the Med it is fairly calm & they only cruise slowly, very little smoke as stack is lots higher than those cabins. All ships are different I'd take a look at the deck plans on CC the bigger the stern slope the more chance of being overlooked, we have not had rear cabin on Delizisosa, as we have got older we select suites mid-ships. alicat58 Posted April 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 25, 2018 Hi Ric We had an aft suite(up grade would not pay that kind of money) on the Luminosa last year. Ship is the same as the Deliziosa. We had one of the massive corner balconies. It would have been amazing if we had warm weather but then there would have been no upgrade and Tenpin would likely have been in that suite:halo:. The only time you could see other passengers were when you were standing at the railings looking down. I think we were on deck 10. We spent hardly any time out there because it was end of November/beginning December and it was cold and windy most of the time. I did not see any soot at all. I cannot recalling any vibration except for docking maybe. We have also once been in a stern cabin. That was another suite freebie. Deck 12 on the Diadema. It was fully enclosed and airconditioned. No hanging over the balcony, no soot and a lovely large jacuzzi. Not a bath! Alicat
tenpin Posted April 26, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2018 Hi Alicat, No chance of us being in the AFT suites now to far to walk to the dining rooms, we have to made do with those converted balcony cabins mid-ships, but still get the jacuzzi bath for these tired old bones to relax in. Must admit though the grand suites do take some beating.
