When you get off the ship head to your right there is a free beach maybe 300-400 yards

ugagal07 Posted October 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2017 In Nassau there's Junkanoo Beach within walking distance of the port. Exit the port, turn right, follow the sidewalk around to the beach. We enjoy it as a nice, laid back, inexpensive beach stop. It is a public beach with several locations you can rent chairs/umbrellas from and buy food/drink/wifi. It usually picks up in crowds as the day goes on and based on how many ships are in port. We've been twice in the past year and never felt unsafe walking there or using the beach. Kids got a coconut for $2, they loved it! Mine had some rum with it :) Great way to spend the day with a reasonable cost. It is not a white powder sand beach with clear turquoise water and five star if that's what your looking for though. You will read some negative reviews, but you'll read those for everything so take them with a grain of salt.
