Scuba on Xpedition?

Former Xpedition cruisers - My DH and I will be going on an Xpedition Galapagos cruise next month, and I am wondering if anyone here has done any scuba diving while on the same cruise. My DH is a certified diver who would love to do a dive there, but he would prefer not to go independently, and we don't know what other options there are, if any. TIA for any light you can shed, experience you can share, or advice you can offer.

If you go into the Celebrity Connections roll call section under xPedition, you will find three very long threads from people who are going, or who have come back from, the xPedition. It's a lot of reading, but I'm sure you can find the info you need there. Have fun on your cruise. We're booked on xPedition but it's still a couple years away.

I haven't been to the Galapagos or on XPedition yet, but I was told by a friend who did sail there that certain boats had scuba permits and certain boats have snorkeling permits and from what she said, in general boats don't have both.

Of course this could be wrong, but based on the research I've done, it seemed correct.

What I recall from my Xpedition cruise last year is that Xpedition does not offer scuba, but they will assist those interested with booking a sucba excursion at one of the port calls. I forget the price, but remember it being somewhat spendy. I do not think this can be arranged in advance, but something you would inquire about early during the cruise.
