Your thoughts on Dream?

We've been on the breeze, Valor and conquest, how did you like the dream for food options, entertainment, activitys on sea days and was it worth the money?

I didn't care for the Dream. The food was lukewarm. Some crew members had bad attitudes. It also does not have the 2.0 upgrades. However, the shows were the best I have seen on a cruise ship. I would sail the Dream again if I could get a good price.

Just got off the dream today. It was our favorite ship by far. We ate in the MDR every night and the food was great. All the staff was very nice and remembered us as we passed them by in the dining room. (We had your time). The ship was beautiful as well.

We can either get a OV for 629 or balcony for 709 pp, were also looking at Royal freedom or Navigator of the seas. But it's a little more money.

I'd go with Freedom of the Seas. We have been on Dream twice and FOS once, but prefer FOS...

We have been on the Dream 4 times and have another booked May 3. As stated above the shows are some of the best on any Carnival ship. We have had a Spa Balcony, Aft Wrap and lower upper deck Balconies. One of the best cabins is an aft wrap sailing down the Mississippi. Food is good to excellent

We recently returned from a B2B on the Dream and we thought it was the best ship of the 7 different Carnival ships we have been on. It had the most variety of food options and even though there were over 4000 passengers, it never felt crowded. Granted we are not sit by the main pool people, but even that area seemed to have a lot of seating, except the night of the Super Bowl, but that was to be expected! We always were able to find things to do on sea days, we like the trivia games and in the evenings we loved watching the Blackjack Band!

We did Key West and the Bahamas the first week and then Cozumel, Roatan and Costa Maya the second week. We love Key West but we just stayed on the ship in Freeport and Nassau. We liked the second week, we wanted to avoid Belize since it is a tender port. I thought the decor was a bit muted from the of the more outrageous ships, like the Miracle. We were on the Valor about 5 years ago but I don't really remember it in comparison to the Dream. We did think the MDR on the Dream was the nicest one we have been in. Open and bright.

What intenarys did you do, and what was your favourite? How was the decor my DW liked the Valor decor but didn't like the Breeze decor.

I have done all the itineraries out of Galveston and New Orleans but I did the Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, Cozumel itinerary on the Dream. That is my favorite out of the three 7 day itineraries. The Dream was a beautiful ship. Probably the ship with the best décor that I have been on.

Have been on the Dream and Sensation, besides that mainly Disney and one Princess cruise. We loved the Dream. Food was good (not as elaborately plated as other lines, but tasted good and was always a good temperature). Room steward was great--when he saw the kids liked towel animals he made extras, room was always done well. Dining room staff was friendly and efficient. Didn't do the shows, so no comment. We loved the Tandoor and pizza. Would sail her again, definitely, if she were closer to us.

Dream a very pretty ship. But LARGE! Had a nice quiet pool in the aft area. Loved the entertainment and comedy shows. MDR very elegant. The only down fall I thought there was is I didn't care for how the casino was set up. There is a walkway thru it by the main bar. If you were to go to the bar to get a drink, you sometimes had to wait as kids were there getting pops.....and parents bringing kids thru it to the cage to cash in money.

Dream is my favorite ship by far! And I have been on all 3 that you have been on also. Dream even blows the Breeze completely out of the water, in my opinion. Dream by far has the best entertainment of any Carnival ship. Dancing in the Streets especially will be packed, so show up early. Blackjack Band in the oceans plaza are always amazing! The entertainment really does feel top notch, unless you come from a place that is spoiled with high quality entertainment, which I do not. Dream's entertainment easily destroys Breeze's, and Conquest has recently adopted Breeze's style.

Food options are great! There is no Girls burgers, but there are still burgers, and they have much longer hours, plus they serve up more than just burgers. There is no Purple Iguana cantina, but there are still lunch burritos, and because there is no cantina, the Dream can serve up the full Mexican buffet during one of the deck parties. Dream's lanai BBQ is much better than Breeze's, because Dream doesn't have the burger & Mexican food restrictions that Breeze has. Dream's lunch pasta bar does not become an extra-pay Italian restaurant at night. Overall, Dream may fall slightly short of Breeze in the food options department, but they have some up-sides that Breeze doesn't have, so it kind of balances out.

Breeze & Dream also balance out in regards to the waterpark. Breeze has more splash features, but Dream has an extra set of racer slides & a better Drainpipe. No ropes course on Dream, but Dream's mini golf is bigger & better, so again, it balances out.

In 3 trips on the Dream, it didn't really seem that crowded, no more than any other ship. Lines were never very long. Plenty of activities going on. Service & attitude from the crew were great every time, especially on my last trip a year ago. I think this ship is the best value, as far as getting the full cruising experience, of all Carnival ships.

We are doing the MoBay, GC, Coz itinerary next year. We are thinking of Dr Cave beach in MoBay, Turtle Farm in GC or Rum Point, and Nachi Cocum in Cozumel. What do you think? Any other recommendations?

Magic & Dream are same class of ship. I have been on Magic once, the Dream 5 times, 4 times last year. Dream is a wonderful ship, very nice to cruise down the Mississippi River. She does not have Guy's burgers or the burrito/taco place. The band Blackjack is awesome. The show Dancing in the Streets is not to be missed.

Pasta Bella is open only at lunch and is great. Seaside BBQ is on sea days on Deck 5.

I would go on the Dream again in a New York minute :D

For those that are recently off the Dream and stayed on the ship during port days...is the pool still open while in port? We are doing the Eastern in May, and I really haven't found an excursion I want take. I'm just looking forward to being on vacation.

Thanks!
