sailor05 Posted October 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2017 First time to Bermuda, and unfortunately we're only there for 1 day from 8-4pm. We don't care any at all about beaches as we've been to many and don't want to waste any time doing that. But we would like to see the highlights whether it be a tour or taking advantage of the transportation offered. We are a group of 7 so any suggestions including tour operators would be appreciated! If we really like what we see then we may do a cruise with a longer stay next time!:D Edit: We will be on the Anthem if that makes any difference
Barb Nahoumi Posted October 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 24, 2017 When is your cruise, and will you have children with you? If so you may like to visit the Crystal Caves, Zoo, and Aquarium which are easily reachable on the bus to Hamilton. Read some of the other posts on this Bermuda board for some of the ideas mentioned by other cruisers. One day in Bermuda is so hard, because there is so much to do and see there. We usually visit on NCL, and spend 3 days in Bermuda. We enjoy many of the features right there in the Dockyard, such as the National Museum, and glass factory. If you have the time, hop the ferry to St. George There you'll see the lovely quaint shops, and there might be a trolley tour available. If the perfumery is open during your visit to St. George, that's a great take. It is important to keep track of time, and plan to be back on the ship at the specified time. njhorseman Posted October 24, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 24, 2017 You may want to consider a tour of the highlights of Bermuda using a "blue flag" taxi driver. The blue flag drivers are government-certified tour guides. For 5-7 passengers in the taxi the tour fare is $70 per hour (for the entire vehicle, not per passenger). There is typically a four hour minimum. You can set an exact itinerary in consultation with the driver. For names of some recommended drivers look on this forum for the thread titled "Bermuda private guide". The thread has been active for many years and the older posts may no longer have valid information so you should read it starting from the most recent post then going back for the past year or so. Don't read it from the beginning.
