Hi all,

So today I'm booking my second cruise for the month of March! Taking the youngest and a friend on Harmony of the Seas end of March for senior year spring break. The oldest is a college scholarship athlete and has commitments on the weekends of her spring break. But, we just found a sailing out of Miami for four days, all midweek, to Key West and Cozumel aboard the Victory. PERFECT!! We've only sailed RCI and NCL to date. I know the older ships don't exactly compare to the new mega ships but I don't think my daughter and her friend particularly care...

I want to book a balcony for me and maybe an ocean view for them. Anywhere on this ship I absolutely do not want to be? Since the cruise is in a few weeks, I can't imagine prime real estate is remaining...

What's not to be missed? I'm think cheers package a must. I don't think this ship has any speciality dining. Again, don't thing the girls will care... recent reviews of the Victory are not good coming out of a small dry dock in December but some seemed construction related? But this is the ONLY cruise that threads the needle on the dates And the ports are perfect. Appreciate your thoughts!!!

We were on the Victory two weeks ago and had Cabin 6432, one of the L-shaped balcony cabins. It was very nice, but we had some plumbing problems, that were efficiently managed by customer service. In my opinion, there is not much special going on on the Victory. Be careful with the Cheers packages, unless you are heavy drinkers, and staying on the ship while in port. It might be hard to drink your money’s worth. Guys burgers was a great addition. The main deck gets crowded fast. Get there early on sea days to get a lounge chair. Besides that, just have a great time!

Thanks for your reply. So you were post drydock where the negative reviews seemed to pile up... no issues with public spaces? How was the entertainment? Does Victory have a piano bar? Thanks again!!

Never been on Victory, however have sailed other Carnival ships. The balcony...do not get the top level balcony because everyone on the deck above you will lean over and join your peace and quiet time. I also request not to be under the main Lido deck since they put pool chairs out early in the mornings....they scrape the deck and it can be loud. Love the spa area balconies. Our children usually stay in an inside stateroom across the hall but hard to get when you book closer to the cruise date. Main deck is packed on sea days, get there early or do something else until after lunch then it thins a little. Have fun!

Yes, we were on the second sailing out of dry dock. We did not see any construction going on at all really. Just typical maintenance. Unfortunately, I can’t comment on the entertainment... we spend a lot of time in the casino. I don’t remember seeing a piano bar. The public spaces were definitely more crowded than on other Carnival ships we’ve been on, but it was manageable. Except for the one sea day that was difficult to find a lounger, I didn’t see any crowding issues like long lines for the Buffet or whatever... I saw the negative reviews before we booked the Victory, too, but I didn’t really see too many things that were unusually annoying...and I have very little patience!
