spacetraveler Posted February 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2018 Last month when we were on a taxi going into PE in the afternoon. After we passed the entrance before getting to the dock, we saw 3-4 couples dressing in tourist clothing walking along the chain fence. I am wondering if pedestrians are allowed to walk out of the port of Everglade and POM. If so, can they flash the cruise cards to get back in? Rare geoherb Posted February 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2018 Yes. When we've taken back to back cruises, we've walked to Total Wine in Fort Lauderdale to restock. There used to be a guard booth earlier along the road. It's been moved down past the place you'd be walking if you're at one of the low number terminals. We drove to the port this morning to board the Regal Princess in Terminal 2. We saw some passengers and of course crew walking to the shops along 17th St.
Rare Keith1010 Posted February 19, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2018 So here is the difference. You need to show ID to get back to PE. If you come in a car you need to do that as well. Port Of Miami you show nothing. Does that make sense? No. When some security breach happens that will change. Keith
fireofficer5 Posted February 19, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2018 Port Everglades security is for the fuel tanks. Like someone can light up 1,000,000 gal. of diesel with a match. Port Miami container area is secure. Security at PE is a joke by the way.
