Soot on Royal Princess aft facing balconies?

An earlier posting was inquiring about soot being a possible issue if booking an aft facing cabin.

Would one experience soot more in the higher decks?

Which aft facing balcony decks would be better on Royal Princess? Any aft facing decks that would be a no go?

We were on the Royal this spring for 27 days. There was minimal soot, and anyway the Stewart kept everything clean. I don’t think higher decks would be worse.

Baja, Dolphin and Riviera have larger decks. Also the 2 center cabin on Caribe are wider. We were on a Baja balcony. Love Aft facing stateroom.
