frangul Posted September 30, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2018 An earlier posting was inquiring about soot being a possible issue if booking an aft facing cabin. Would one experience soot more in the higher decks? Which aft facing balcony decks would be better on Royal Princess? Any aft facing decks that would be a no go? cruisingthomas Posted October 1, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 1, 2018 We were on the Royal this spring for 27 days. There was minimal soot, and anyway the Stewart kept everything clean. I don’t think higher decks would be worse. Baja, Dolphin and Riviera have larger decks. Also the 2 center cabin on Caribe are wider. We were on a Baja balcony. Love Aft facing stateroom. rockdoctor Posted October 8, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2018 We. Have spent a total of three weeks on the Royal in aft balconies. I think soot is more of a function of covered versus uncovered balconies. B and D are covered and have have little soot.
