excursions with buses that are safe for children without car seats in Costa Maya

Our group of 10 (including 4 children ages 5, 4, 3 and 2) will be traveling on the Allure of the Seas in July 2018. We are not taking car seats on the plane and will be using bus shuttles from airport to cruise port and will not require car seats there.

The issue is with port excursions. Taxis in Nassau, Cozumel, Costa Maya and Roatan do not have car seats and do not require them. We will not allow our children to ride in cars without car seats and have heard that even if we did bring car seats with us, most taxis in these countries cannot accommodate US cars seats. Cannot get straight answer from RCCL if the excursions we are interested in use buses that are safe for children to ride in without car seats. How have other cruisers handled this? The Allure is a great ship but would like to go on excursions in some of the ports and have child-safe transportation.

Just a thought. The area by the pier is really nice with a beach and even a pool.

With the ages of the children I would just enjoy this area which I think would be fun for everyone.

I think dragging the young ones on an excursion would not be much fun for the adults and the children putting safety aside.

I have not been in a bus with seat belts in the Caribbean or in America and I don't think a car seat in a bus without seat belts to hold it would be any safer.

Most Caribbean taxis are smaller than American taxis and car seats would not fit and many of them have no attachments for car seats.

A Greyhound bus just crashed in America yesterday killing a child showing that bus travel in America may not be any safer than in the Caribbean.
