LA parking at the pier

We are flying into lax and want to know what is the charge to park at the port? Los Angeles. I would like to rent a car and keep it for our return back. Thanks!

$11/day is the last that I have read. If you book a package at SOME hotels, and stay the night before or the night after your cruise, they will let you park for free.

Doesn't make sense to me - renting a car just to sit in a parking lot for a week - hmmm....daily parking charge....daily rental charge....when you can easily hire a taxi to/from the airport for alot less $$. Happy Sailing!

Wow I didn't think it would be $11 per day, I guess we'll take a taxi there, or I do like the idea of coming in a day early, we can visit with family before the cruise at the Hotel. Thanks!

Does anyone know what the taxi charge would be from LAX to the port in San Pedro for 4 people? I guess we'll rent a car when we get off for the day. Thanks!

You'll need a taxi van for that many people/luggage. They cost more. I suggest you hire a shuttle service instead - like www.supershuttle.com Also, there are no rental companies at the port. The closest is Enterprise which I think has an office in San Pedro. Happy Sailing!

Prime Time Shuttle is another shuttle van company. Since there are 4 of you they will let you rent a "private" van -- no other stops to pick up strangers. It will be cheaper than a cab, I think. I also think they offer a AAA discount.

Just to let you know, Prime time has had a lot of problems, including getting kicked out of all the airports for lack of insurance (since corrected) and getting vans red-flagged by the California Highway Patrol for bald tires. Super shuttle or www.karmel.com are better choices.
