Diamond late arrival on the 10th

Just as an FYI to those boarding the Diamond Princess on the 10th, due to mechanical problems she is arriving anywhere from 2-4 hours late. So, embarkation will be late getting started. Locals may want to contact Princess for an update before heading out to the ship.

I live in Los Angeles and am scheduled to go tomorrow. I also received a message from princess when I got home today advising of a 3:00PM embarkation instead of 12:00. Hope the "mechanical problems" are nothing serious".

Wow! A brand new ship having mechanical problems. That's very unusual.

There have been reports of mechanical issues, electrical issues. All of which are minor, I understand Mitsubishi engineers are aboard as we type fixing it.

CruiserSteve, Calabasas - our kids have been going to Cottontail Ranch camp for the past five years. We drive up every summmer. We're in San Diego. Are you going to Sundays Meet/Mingle? Haven't seen you on our thread.

We're meeting at 12 noon at Horizon Ct. stern. Hopefully our tables will be well marked, the extra time in the morning might get me to Kinko's to print up some nice table signs.

She's arriving in San Pedro, the Port of Los Angeles, at this moment. Watching Her coming down the channel to the dock. There will be alot of passengers missing their flight connection. That's too bad before a holiday.

She departed San Pedro, Port of Los Angeles, about 7:15 p.m. PDT, over two hours late. I hope any mechanical issues have been resolved.

Thanks for keeping us posted Andrea! I've been waiting to find out when she sailed. Hopefully someone who debarked today will fill us in.

I just got off her today. It was announced that due to our late departure in Cabo San Lucas (1 hour) and technical problems that prevented the ship from doing over 18 knots, that our arrival would be late. Princess made different flight arraingments for people booking air with them, and others were on their own. We docked at approx. 11:00 A.M. Disembarkation seemed to go smoothly, however the staff was frantically trying to make the adjustment and prepare for the new cruisers. But it appears that all was going well.
