We have a pretty small group (20)+- who would like to meet and greet each other on our upcoming cruise. We have decided on a place, outside bar, and time, right after lifeboat drill. Now the question with so many people on the ship any suggestions on how to find our CC members. Ribbons, stickers any one have a neat ideas for this?

Hi - what about a really cool colorful lanyard that can double duty holding your seapass card and identify your group? You could probably buy 20 of them on-line somewhere - get something that isn't the color of the cruise line's lanyards. You could also tie a small ribbon on it to make it be more noticeable.

Those are cool ideas! I usually wear my Cruise Critic Tshirt; truth be known, I'm usually the ONLY one wearing the Cruise Critic Tshirt! It sure attracts a lot of attention from non-critics. I get asked many questions about 'my' website (of which I never claim to own!), but I hope that my answers help persuade some new folks to sign on!! I sure wish I had cards to pass out!

Victrola: are you trying to get something to give to the cruise critic members at your meet and greet? Or are trying to identify them ahead of time? One of the things I do is print out the door sign from this web site, and I tape it to the front of my carry-on suitcase. It helps identify me at the terminal, if there are folks there looking for other members. You can also print one and put on your door....maybe even print up several and pass them out at the meet and greet, just in case the other folks don't have one.

How about some funky headbands, like bunny ears, stars, any kind of decorations like that? What about those huge sunglasses? THAT would be a fun photo at the meet and greet!!!!

Our CC group of 100+ decided to individually purchast leis, mardigras beads and pirate bandana and where them on the embarkation or ties them to ones backpack since we could decide which ones to get and who might whear one or not. Someone else is making nametags for the Meet and Greet which the crise line scheduled for us the first day at sea at 10:30 am. susan

Hello - We all wore mardi gras beads on our last M&M, but there were others on the ship who also had them on who weren't in our M&M! I saw where one group wore a colorful Band-Aid on their left hand and above their left ankle. That sounds different!! I guess you would have to be waving your left hand around to get noticed (or a good foo foo drink, ha!)

Have fun!

I was looking for ideas on how to spot other CC members who have logged in to our post. Since we will be topside near the outside bar area it should be crowded. I think the lei idea sounds the best.

Thanks for all the input.

On our cruise last May I had chatted with several other CC members, The usual banter about cruising. Well.. we had VIP boarding on Carnival and were sitting in the specified area to wait to be escorted on the ship. We had no name tags or anything to identify us. A lady came and sat next to my husband and leaned forward and looked at me and said "Are you BoozeBabe"? Well my jaw dropped and I sat there with my mouth hanging open for a few seconds. I said "Yes!" how did you know? She said she is psychic and just knew it was me. I had given no description of myself and did not let anyone know what category cabin I was in either. It was one of the wierdest things to happen to me. She was from California and I am from Ohio so our paths had never crossed.

There were about 20 of us who had arranged to meet on the first sea day at a specified bar. Well some of them had tote bags with the cruise date and CC on it so I knew who they were. One of the ladies in the group had an embroidery business and made really cute tote bags with a logo she came up with and the cruise date etc on them. She made them ahead of time and shipped them to others so they would have them and they could all be identified by the bags. It worked. I knew exactly who to introduce myself to. It was also fun trying to figue out who was who from their screen names. We all met on boarding day and schlepped around together all week. Great bunch of people, we had a ball with them.

on the Med cruise and we had all agreed to wear blue Mardi Gras beads ... but I was the only one who did!! Still got 'em upstairs, maybe I'll get them out for another cruise.

For the record, didn't see any other groups wearing beads or leis or matching lanyards or totes, it was a pretty sedate cruise. Mr Chew & I are in our early/mid 50s and we felt on the young side!

I guess it depends on your group, the more lively it is, the more likely folks will want to wear something to stand out! We set up our own M&M the first sea day, tried a second one later in the cruise but only a few showed up. Oh well ...

We've used the lei idea a few times and it seems to work out well. Have always met a few as we were waiting to board as we were all wearing the leis a little bit early "just in case". I also get recognized fairly early since I have my pic here on CC. I've even had a few "lurkers" come up and introduce themself to me like they are a long lost friend who just never bothered to sign on. That has thrown me for a loop a few times!

Mardi gras beads and met at the pool bar at sail away. Then Al gave all of us name tags, which I put on our cabin door after a day or three.

On our cruise this October, we're going to wear orange when we board.

On one of our last cruises, one of the gentlemen had us all email him a photo. He created a small 'collage' with our cc names that he sent to us. He also scheduled a quickie meeting before sailaway (also passed out the photos again). By the time we went to the cc meet and mingle, we already knew each other.

On a different cruise, we used the lei idea and met during the sailaway at the pool bar.

haven't quite figured out what we'll do for the next cruise.

Have a great weekend!

My daughter has a lanyard she bought from here that says "cruisecritic" so she is easy to spot and has been spotted. she also has a magnetized "cruisecritic" sign that she puts on our stateroom door.

If everyone posts that they will wear-example, a specific tee shirt with a logo- on saila way-others will know to look for them.

This is what we did-We knew each other because we had posted pictures on our roll call.
