We are traveling on the Nautica in October starting in Istanbul.Is there a good restaurant you could reccommend in Istanbul. We are there for two nights prior to the cruise.

If we only had one night in Istanbul, we'd do the Orient House.

Their show is amazing, people come to it from all over the world. The food is representative of what the Turks eat, but familiar enough for everyone to enjoy. The Kebabs are glorious!

 

You'll be amazed at the patrons around you, when we were there, 34 countries were represented (they put little flags on each table).

We were there this past May. Had many good meals. The Han Restaurant near the Archaelogical Museum was very good. Honestly we only had one bad meal - but I can't remember the name of the place..

When leaving the ship take the tramway which will go to the old city center. Plenty of restaurants out there. Cheaper and quicker and better as a taxi.

We don't remember the price specifically, but our memory is that it was less expensive than we had expected, and we were very pleased that there was none of the usual "shake down the tourist" shenanigans.

 

You won't be asked to buy Orient House logo tee shirts, for example, or to buy a cocktail in a special keepsake glass.

I contacted our Istanbul hotel, who provided lots of info. We went with the 60Euro fixed menu, and they even pick up and drop off at the hotel!

I'm looking forward to spending our last evening in Istanbul, and on vacation, there!
