Boston Morning Traffic, Tuesday??

We'll be sailing out on the Jewel, Tuesday, October 27. The night before we're staying in Dedham. How bad will traffic to Boston be on a Tuesday morning? What time do you think we should head up? We plan to drop off our luggage at the port, then head over to BOS to return the rental, then back to the port to board.

You'll be heading down Rt 128 to Rt 93 into Boston. What time is the ship leaving? After 0930 or so you should be in pretty good shape, but listen to the radio (or TV) they'll have traffic reports for you (the interchange of 95 & 128 in Dedham can present problems, as can the interchange of Rts 93, 128 & 3 in Braintree, but less of one later in the morning). Have a great cruise

Thanks for the info. We're driving up from NJ and will be using Marriott points for a free night, thus we picked the Fairfield in Dedham. Jewel doesn't leave till 5:00 so we have plenty of time. What we'll do is have a nice breakfast at the hotel and start up for boat around 9:30 or 10:00. Drop off the luggage, go over to the airport and turn in the car and then head back over to the port.

Thanks again:)

At the Fairfield, you have a great "50s Diner" less than a mile away off of Rt1, one of the best breakfasts in those parts. Also, you're next door to Vinny T's, so if you have dinner there, go hungry, the portions are legendary. There's also a new shopping center across the street (LL Bean & others) and a CVS & Walgreen's across on Rt1 in case you forget anything.

Have a great cruise..
