lgarner Posted April 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2004 In Feb. DH and I took our first Celebrity cruise and loved it. I remember reading posts that recommended the best cabins. Now I am looking for a cruise for next Jan/Feb and don't remember where I found the cabin hints. We are looking at a 10 - 14 day caribbean cruise, so far that search brings up Zenith, Summit and Horizon. We have never had a balcony cabin and looked at those on Summit. Would love to hear recommendations on the best balcony cabin locations. Somehow we can not bring ourselves to splurge on a suite so please don't recommend those. Suggestions on regular oceanview cabins (best location or worst) would also be appreciated. This year we were over the disco and not really happy about that. Thanks! Family of 14 Posted April 12, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2004 We happened to luck into a handicapped aft in the last couple of weeks before our cruise. it was not needed and was released to the public. It was wonderful and big! Nice balcony as well. I wish I could remember who on this board recommended it to me. Are you sailing on the Mariner 7/18/04?...Click here! Danno Posted April 12, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2004 I'll let you in on a little secret about Horizon/Zenith...the aft 6 to 8 cabins on the Atlantic deck are a great choice. Quiet, ease of access to the nice aft deck, easy access to stairs to the pool/buffet area. I always aim for this area. They may not be quite as good a deal as they once were as I believe they are now Concierge Class but they are worth investigation...good luck. lgarner Posted April 14, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted April 14, 2004 Thanks family of 14 and Dan. I seem to prefer the aft cabins too. What is the Concierge Class?

Irishwhiskey Posted April 14, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 14, 2004 We regularly check for bargins for the time or place we are interested in going to.Many of our cruises were taken as a result of some special promotions and deals that the cruise lines run from time to time.Free air fare or $500 off a balcony room are just two of the incentives that we have been able to take advantage off over the years. Many of these deals have to be booked as soon as possible before the cruise lines fill the ships and pull the promotions. We normally book an oceanview cabin near the center of the ship. Not because of the motion of the ship but because we don't have to walk as far to get around the ship.Everything is centrally located near our cabin.
