What's the earliest you can go ashore in Key West?

Recommended Posts

Our upcoming Majesty cruise is supposed to arrive in Key West at 10:00 a.m. I understand everyone has to go thru immigration there first before leaving the ship, so can we count on going ashore starting at 10:00 a.m., or could there be a delay? We're meeting a friend on the pier, so need to know what time.

Yes...on my cruise...Ms. Ramirez held us up for quite a long time...the comedian even added into his jokes that night. There were a few families that were being called down for immigration...but finally it was down to Ms. Ramirez....

So, dentalchic, what time did you finally get off the ship in Key West?

Our intinerary says we arrive at 10:00 a.m. Does that mean that's when we actually tie up at the pier, or is that the time we're scheduled to be able to leave the ship? Do they start the immigration processing before that time?
I'm really trying to get a realistic time to tell our friend when to meet us.

Well the good news...is that we arrived in Key West much earlier than expected...so I think they shoot for 10:00 to be the time they allow people off...they began calling early...but people weren't going down when they were suppose to...they will tell you which decks are suppose to go down for immigration at what time the day before...it took my family all of 2 minutes to go through...not a big deal...as long as people are respectful and go down when they are called. I don't believe my foot stepped on Key West concrete...until 10:45 or so...and we were literally one of the first people off...one of the bennies of being on the 2nd deck!!! I would say to play it safe say...10:30...unless Ms. Ramirez is on your cruise also...lol.
