6 family booked 3 balcony staterooms on Liberty for Eastern Caribbean sailing 12/06/09. Any info re staterooms, deck, etc appreciated. First Carnival cruise for 5 of 6, any tips, advice, etc?

You are in the best place on the ship...There is no pass-thru traffic on that deck and you are just steps away from the pools and the Lido buffet....Enjoy , we are on the Lido on our cruise on the Valor in 10 days,,,,,:)..................Dennis

We stayed on the lido deck balcony back in August 08 on the Glory. No complaints. We were mid ship. Very handy location, close to pools, and the restaurants. In fact we booked a balcony on Lido aboard the Valor in December.

Great location and great ship. We had 9207 in January. I love being up high and the forward locations are very quiet - no noise in the halls usually as they don't get much traffic. The Lido location is great for convenience - straight down the hall and out the doors to the pools and buffet or just pop down the stairs or elevator to the deck 5 promenade where most of the indoor fun is.

Let your newbies know - don't try to go forward and aft on decks three or four as you can't do it because of the galley - to always use another deck you need to travel to the other end of the ship like the aft dining room. That seems to be the location that trips people up - they know they need to be on deck 3 at the aft dining room but if you use the forward elevators to go to 3 you can't get there that way! Sounds complicated but you get used to it - just use 5 and 9 as your thoroughfares!

Have a great cruise!

We were in 9272 on the Glory last week. We loved the convenience. Never heard a peep from the lido open deck area -no sound from band or deck parties. However, we did hear a lot of noise occasionally carrying up from the lobby bar area. When we left our cabin it was only yards from an open area where we could look down and see the lobby bar. It didn't bother us as we were always awake anywaywhen this happened. (especially loud on Mardi Gras night). We also heard a faint ping when elevator doors opened. It was not a problem either except that the first day we kept thinking it was the ping sound you hear before there's an announcement. We'd be talking and hear the ping and we'd stop talking and listened for the announcement! LOL! Also, the laundry room was across the hall and 1 door down from us. Heard voices and noise from here occasionally. Sounds like a lot of noise but I'd take this room again in a heartbeat. Loved it.

If you have the choice again - go a bit further forward on the lido deck. Once you are past the atrium you won't hear a thing. :)

I haven't sailed the Glory, but I did Lido balconies on Valor (very near the front) and Splendor (near the atrium, just a few steps from the open deck), and both were great. Given the choice, I'd choose further aft, closer to midship. The noise wasn't a problem, and the convenience of the location can't be beat!
