Iguanas

I've hear that iguanas have free reign on the island and frequent the beaches. I think it was in Aruba. Can anyone tell me if this is true? If so, which hotel or area would I be most likely to see them? Talk about local flavor!

I spent the day at Allegro and the critters are all around the pool area. They are different sizes. I saw some close to 2 feet long. They l sun themselves around the waterfalls and areas close to the restaurant. :)

The iguanas are all over the island. I spent a week at Costa Linda and in the mornings they were always on the balcony. They are harmless. The biggest ones I saw were by the pier. As you exit the pier make a right and walk along the water you will see a marina where there are alot of fishing charter boats. Right before the Seaport Casino and mall there was a patch of grass where there were about 15 to 20 of the biggest iguanas I saw throughout the week.

wonder if you are still around. We traded our timeshare for the Costa Linda Sept 2005. Would love to hear your impressions.

We were at the Casa Del Mar last year, and loved it.

I actually enjoyed Costa Linda. The service was great, the units were well equipped and comfortable. I had a 2 bedroom unit with six adults and had plenty of room. I would go again in a heart beat!
