What happens when a bridge is too low???

and the boat can't go under it...maybe because the river is too high, etc.?? Or does this happen with collapsible sun decks?

If a boat cannot pass under abridge because of high river levels, first thing to be tried (so long as the river is not in full flood and the current is too stong - then all shipping would be halted)would be to lower the bridge (if possible), masts and any awnings that can be removed. If this doesn't help, then the boat would remain stationery, then there culd be one of three options:

a. Change boats (if available) abobe and below the bridge in question.

b. Use the stationarey boat as a hotel and do daily bus excurions.

c. Bus the passengers along the cruise route but using hotels.

Don't forget option d: Find as many of the heaviest locals you can and invite them aboard for beer and brats. . .there's no replacement for displacement!

:p

I didn't want to mention that, as then there is always the possibility of the ship runnning aground.

Although for the next four weeks it would have to be more like gluehwein und brats (half meter = 19.69 inches).
