Cinque Terre Hotels

Post cruise we want to spend a week in Cinque Terre. Currently looking at Moneterosso and trying to decide between the apartment at Ca Du Gigante and a room at Hotel Pasquale.

We like the convenience of the apartment but also like the expansive sea views and proximity to the beach of hotel Pasquale.

Any recommendations appreciated.

We spent a month in Italy last fall, staying in everything from religious institutions, hotels, agritourisms to apartments. The four days that we spent in a small apartment in Riomaggiore were among our favourite days. We enjoyed the privacy of a large one bedroom suite, and the stunning views over the sea. We took a train from FCO, changed at Ostiense (sp) to the La Spezia train that happened to stop in Civitavechia along the way. You do not need a car for Cinque Terre.

We spent 5 days in the Cinque Terre this past July and stayed at the Villa Steno, the sister hotel of Hotel Pasquale (same owners). The Villa Steno was lovely and the staff was so nice. The Villa Steno sits way up on the hill and their breakfast balcony has great views out to the sea. The only down side was climbing up all those steps after dinner and drinking that marvelous Cinque Terre wine:-) I assume the Hotel Pasquale would be very similar, in regards to staff and rooms . Of course, wherever you stay the Cinque Terre is just wonderful! It is spectacular!

We spent 3 nights at the Hotel Pasquale. The location was great and the sraff very helpful. The bath was a bit small but very modern. The room had excellent A/C and cable TV. The buffet breakfast was fabulous with home made pastries and preserves. We can't wait to go back there again.
