In Cabin Dining?

Recommended Posts

Since this will be my first RCL cruise there's much I still don't know about the line. Does RCL offer those fancy schmancy In-Cabin Dining experiences with the tableside service I've seen on another line?

Princess does it, and its pretty expensive but by the time you're asea it's hard to find a reason why not.

I just haven't seen it in any of the literature.

If yes, can anyone review?

Simple answer No. You can order room service where they'll just plop down the tray then you're on your own.

And, unless you're in a suite with a dining table, eating a full meal off the coffee table or vanity isn't that much fun OR "romantic"....everything is delivered at one time....lots and lots of plates, little packets of condiments, salt, pepper...it's a mess.

Go to the dining room and eat in style!

It might not be 'fancy in room dining', but several times on Royal, I have ordered dinner from room service, and each night they offer a few selections from the dining room menu (not sure if that's advertised, but they do it).

Anyways, if you have a balcony as I always do, it's quite lovely to have a DR meal out under the stars. There's usually a small table on the balcony that is fine for dining for 2.

My favorite balcony time is early in the AM with a continental breakfast and coffee. The small balcony table is just the right size for the tray and IMHO you cannot beat it! Later I head for the Windjammer for a full breakfast.... What? You think I eat too much? I have have official clearance from my doctor to eat whatever and when ever I want for my yearly cruise week. (And I take full advantage of it!) :D

As for a full meal in your cabin... I'm with those who say your cabin is not the place for that type of dining.

I will have to disagree. Each cruise we always have one night where we eat in our room, usually out on the balcony. Nothing better than a romantic dinner for 2 with a bottle of wine in your bathrobes!:)
