Evening Entertainment on Caribbean Princess

Goldeneye

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to decide between the Celebrity Summit and Caribbean Princess for a 14 night Cruise.. The itineraries are very similar and comments by cc'rs about the ships leave me split sooooo.... I'd like to find out about evening entertainment.... neither our friends or ourselves are gamblers so what else is there.. How are the shows... and... what sort of live music/ nightlife is there ?

One friend just loves music especially caribbean and would be itching to dance and sway away to music...

We are all in our late 40's to mid 50's ... Will be hubbies 50th on board

Thanks in advance

We had the same two ships booked for the end of January (for my 50th) & decided to go with the Caribbean Princess. Like the other CC members said, the cruise experience will be very similar between Princess and Celebrity. The shows interchangeable, Casinos similar.

Truthfully-the cruise will be what you & your friends make it. If you're thinking about late seating-Traditional dining....evenings will be spent in the dining room where we leisurely sit laughing with the people at our table, enjoying their company. Then we'd go off to a bar or night club for music and dancing. When we were on the Summit we didn't get to many of the shows-our dinners were our entertainment!

We did enjoy the Normandie restaurant (Summit) and the Crown Grill (Princess) very much. The Chef's dinner & the Sanctuary on Princess swayed us in that direction.

Since you don't seem to be sure either way-here's what I would do...Celebrity will credit price drops back to your credit card even after full payment has been made (all you have to do is watch the price & call them & ask for an adjustment.) The prices on Celebrity seem to decrease-not so much on Princess. Why not check the prices for the 2 cruises your deciding between but for January or February just to get a "feel" for what your March cruise might end up costing. If one seems to be a lower cost than the other....maybe that would help?

Either way, you can't go wrong. Wonderful ships, decent food, fantastic ports. Enjoy!

I have actually been on BOTH of these ships. Freaky as I've only taken 4 cruises. Took Summit to Alaska and the Caribbean Princess in the Caribbean. While I enjoyed both, choosing Summit would be an easy choice for me. Please don't consider my comments a knock on either ship.

Summit has much better service, better food, and better entertainment. However, the nightlife on Princess is more lively but that could have been a function of the more reserved nature of an Alaskan cruise on Summit.

The entertainment is great.

Shows in the theatre, movies under the stars,

and there is a one night huge party on deck.

Lots of fun

These pics taken without flash.

Before the show, the guy announces No Flash Photography allowed during the show.

And still people don't turn their flashes off

Get out the camera's manual and learn how: it's easy once you know how!

Really nice pics. My daughter is a Production Singer on the CB right now, although since she didn't join the cruise until 12/6 these are probably pics of the prior cast.

I also get some beautiful shots using manual settings - it just takes a little planning.

Thanks for sharing.
