Being at the bow is a lovely experience unless you hit rough weather. Because of my allergies, we keep the doors open at least a bit most of the time. We enjoy the breeze, watching the crew, and being the first to glide into ports. Also, went through Kiel Canal sitting on verandah the entire time. We have done the Baltic and the Med in these rooms. For So Amer and Australia-New Zealand, we decided mid-ship would be better. We probably would have been fine, but didn't want to chance wild weather. I hope you enjoy these rooms as much as we have. ddcruiser

Hello: Can any one tell me what this room and belcony are like?

Tom-

It's a longer than normal walk to the elevator, but the room itself is exactly the same as every other B1.

The verandah is much deeper (from front to back) than a normal B1 but the width is the same.

The view forward is wonderful naturally, and the crew working deck is about 8 feet below your verandah.

As you will notice from this photo, the verandah railings on the forward cabins and suites are solid metal. For this reason, they are not transparent. Most people are not tall enough to see over them when they are sitting down. For some passengers, the railings are an issue, others just accept it as a fact of life and adapt to it.

Some people even enjoy the fact that the solid rail can provide a bit of a wind break when you are sitting out on your verandah.

You will hear more "front of the ship" noise, naturally. The bow thruster being operated, the anchor being raised and lowered, etc. The good news is that these noises dont last a long time, the bad news is that they tend to occur very early in the morning.

We find the workings of the ship to be fascinating, and we easily fall back asleep, so none of that is an issue for us, but others find it all maddening. You need to know yourself.
