monkeyinhat Posted January 13, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2010 Due to a snafu with Priority club people , they have rebooked us at the Intercontinental. I looked online at the hotel info. Big upgrade. We used up tour money on our last cruise so just spending a day previous cruise here. And have had San Juan a aport stop before, We are looking for a relaxing vacation. Looks like this hotel will keep us occupied for a stay, lots to do right? We were thinking of taking advantage of late check out and using facilities since our ship doesnt leave until 8 Pm from reading on this board looks like hotel and nearby there are some good restuarants. Also read walgreens half block away to get soft drinks Is there a liquor store nearby? Would appreciate any other info or suggestions on the hotel or area. Fancy_Goods Posted January 13, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 13, 2010 The Intercontinental is awesome! Lovely grounds, pool, directly on the beach in Isla Verde...rooms are clean and have wonderful views. Please take advantage of the late check out (4 pm). The Puebla Market is a quick walk from the Intercontinental. They have everything you need.
monkeyinhat Posted January 14, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted January 14, 2010 thank you both. wow, I didn't realize late check out was until 4 pm, I thought it was just an extra hour. I personally don't feel the need to rush and be first on the ship. These cold toes are ready for warm sand!
Pandora2im4 Posted January 19, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 19, 2010 When you check in, ask about getting a courtesy room for an hour on check out day. When our group stayed there previously, we got a courtesy room to shower up in after laying by the pool before heading for the ship. That allowed us to enjoy a full day in PR and go to the ship clean.
