Junkanoo Beach

I am leaving this Friday on the Majesty and still trying to figure out our day in Nassau. We have been there twice and done the Atlantis and Cabbage beach. I thought about the Sheraton or Wyndam but I don't think we would stay there long enough to make it worth paying for a day pass. It looks like Junkanoo beach is within walking distance from the pier and wondering if it will be a total disappointment. We are probably only looking to spend an hour or so at the beach and also wondering if the walk would be considered safe as I am a single mom with my two kids.
