San Diego Hotels?

We've stayed several times at the Marriott, downtown area.
Only a month old??? Hummm, we talking about the same hote? The San Diego Marriott on the water has been there for several years, though they have been doing some remodeling.

Not the same as you have mentioned. The following is the website and news of the new hotel. http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/sangl?WT_Ref=mi_left

http://www.jwdainc.com/projects/project23/project23_1.shtml & http://www.jwdainc.com/news/may04.shtml . My major concern is that this last article says to be completed in 2006, with 12 stories, but the website says that the hotel opened in December 2004 with 22 stories. I hope that construction is not still going on there.

Perhaps there are two different Marriotts in the Gaslamp district, but the street location was the same for both hotels mentioned above.

The downtown Marriott that you mentioned is on the Marinia and there were no rooms available.

Well what do you know! I wasn't aware Marriott was adding that property and you are right, the one I was referring to was the Marina location.

I'm sure you won't have a problem, but for ease of mind, you might want to call their front desk at the newer property just to confirm.

If you have the time, check out the Marriott on Coronada Island just across the water from San Diego... It is really nice.

The Marriott Marina (333 West Harbor Drive) and the Marriott Gaslamp (660 K Street) are two different hotels. The former is right on the harbor next to the convention center and close to Seaport Village. The latter is just west of Petco Park (baseball stadium). The Marina is 25 stories tall and has been there at least 10 years, the new Gaslamp is 22 stories.
