Which cruise, when and where?

Cruise lines usually dock in Phillipsburg on the dutch side, but smaller ships have the option of docking in Marigot, the town on the french side.

Both have facilities and shopping, Phillipsburg is much bigger and busier, but Marigot has a more european feel to it.

The tenders from Azamara come ashore at the Gare Maritime.

Plenty of taxis out front to take you to any beach you may like. You can also take the ferry to Anguilla if you want, as it departs every 30 minutes and departs right next to the tenders.

We decided to take a taxi to Orient Beach, to the Kakao Beach Club. It was our best beach day on our Journey cruise.

Taxi was $18 USD each way, two beach chairs plus umbrella in front row facing water were $25. Beach was wide and gorgeous, with clear turquoise water. Beach chairs/umbrella and drinks were priced the same whether you used dollars or euros. Food was priced only in euros.

Plenty of taxis at Orient Beach when you have had enough sun and are ready to leave.
