For those who own their own dive gear

We always haul our own gear with us, and carry our BC's and regs on the plane. I have found the more you dive, the colder you get, even in the Caribbean. That's why the DM's wear full wet suits.

 

We were in Bonaire last year and I found that at the beginning of the trip I was okay in my shortie. But by day three and 8 tanks later, I needed my full 3mm wet suit. Someone suggested I wear a beanie as well, but I was okay with te full suit.

The only time I don't take my gear is when I have absolutely NO plans to dive, but I always take my C card because you never know when the opportunity might arise. Keep in mind that your life is dependant on much of your equipment. And which equipment will you trust the most, yours or a rental companies.
