Cruise gambling

Cruise ship casinos are unlike most Casinos, they're mostlly filled with novices who don't have a clue about gambling. They risk their money at games they don't understand, or don't have a big enough bankroll to give themselves a chance to win, or are just playing to have fun(no problem with that).

Simple rules at any casino:

Don't risk money that will hurt your financial situation if you lose.

Don't play a game that you don't know the house ege, odds, rules and ettiquite.

If you're afraid of losing, don't play.

I consider my gambling money to be an "entertainment" expense....just like I'd spend money to see a show or concert or visit an amusement part.....It's budgeted and if I lose, oh, well---I was having fun! Of course, you hope to win and play to win, but you KNOW going in that the odds are against you!

And yes---know the game you're playing...especially at table games! There's nothing worse than someone who doesn't have a clue splitting 10's and doing other odd things!

I don't disagree with the OP, but every vacation spot with casinos will have novices. Vegas is not exactly full of experts at every table either - although you do have a lot of professional gamblers...

Most people go to Vegas with the idea of doing some gambling. A lot of people go on cruises without any real preconceived ideas about doing any gambling. They put a few dollars in the slots for the same reason they might try ordering the drink of the day... to try something new. Even table games they play without any real idea about the odds or the rules.

Cruising is the best way for an addict to see the world, lol. whether it be gambling, drinking, eatting, spaing, suning or whatever. Cruising has everything and you get to travel the world. Yes some newbies but most people in the casino have been there before and stay there alot.

If it's in Vegas or a cruise ship, it doesn't mater.

 

It's entertainment for the majority of us.

What I notice om cruise ships is that after a couple of days, the casual players have mostly dropped out and from then on, it's regulars who know what they are doing. That's at the blackjack and craps tables. I could care less about what happens at the slots or the other table games. I won't even DISCUSS the players of Texas Hold'em. That's not gambling, that's an ego trip!
