SJU Airport

I have read all of these horror stories about the airport on Sundays but I was curious what it was like on Saturdays. Our flight leaves at 3:50pm and was curious what time we should arrive. We would like to explore a little more before we leave. Thanks John.

I would be there NO later then 1:30, better to be safe then sorry

We flew out of SJU on a Saturday in 2007. We didn't experience any of the problems or commotion that people experience on Sundays. We noticed that the arrivals area was busy since a lot of people fly in early to catch cruises leaving on Sunday....but the departures area wasn't bad at all.

 

We arrived at 2.5 hours before our flight and had lots of time.

Just returned from SJU last night.

 

Debarkation from the ship was flawless for us. We exited the ship at 8:55, found our luggage immediately, and since we used Luggage Valet, handed our luggage off to the airline rep before exiting the terminal.

 

Found a Taxi and were at the airport before 9:30. Had our carry on luggage inspected by the USDA before going through security.

 

Our flight left at 3:10 so we just decided to spend that time with our friends before going our separate ways. They do offer anexcursion off the ship for those with flights after 3PM.

We sail on Seranade every January with friends.We usually have a late flight so we go across the street from the terminal.a place called Buffalo wings.You can have a good lunch and watch TV,all sports.Then back to the terminal for a little time in the casino.The casino is located by the hotel.Table games and slots.

We've cruised out of San Juan many times. I don't doubt that things there could be very hectic, but we have never encountered any problems there.
