Dottie,

There are a lot of folks who seem to like the Green Onion...I, personally, have never eaten there, so I can't say for sure...When I've been in Pedro and eating Mexican food, it's always been at Acapulco--it's a local chain, some people have a prejudice against chains--but I actually enjoy their food...and margaritas...The San Pedro location is outstanding in that it is right on the waterfront...I've had drinks there on weekend afternoons out on the patio as the ships make their way out to sea virtually overhead...

Walking distance from the CP, my top choice would be the San Pedro Brewing Company...check out their menu...

You really cannot go wrong with Wineaux's list...he lives in Pedro and knows it better than anyone else here...

The great thing about the CP is that you really are in the heart of San Pedro and have your choice of multiple restaurants within a block or two from the hotel...

Have fun...

I will flat out say that when it comes to Mexican food, San Pedro breathes mediocrity. I find the Green Onion to be no better or worse than any other Mexican restaurant in town. As Steve said, what sets Alcapulco apart is it's location....right on the water. Welcome to San Peeeeeeedro!!

We ate at the Green Onion a few years ago and enjoyed their food...and margaritas... We have not been to Alcapulco to eat but we know where it is and as Wineaux has said "what sets Alcapulco apart is it's location....right on the water". CP should have a shuttle to Alcapulco but not sure what times the shuttle runs.

You will enjoy either on.

All the restaurants I listed are within walking distance of the Crowne Plaza unless, of course, you are disabled then the CP does a shuttle that will take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius.
