Awesome. Thanks NC! One of our friends off of our roll call (pinkfloydfan) just got back from yet ANOTHER sailing on Fantasy and he met with Risa who gave him copies of the 7 day sailing prior to his cruise. Very nice gesture I thought. He is sending them to me via snail mail. YAY!

Nancy, They were mailed out to your P.O. box yesterday. There is also a nice note from Risa attached. Enjoy Pink

I normally tend to avoid the CD as I don't normally "do" ship activities and find the CD and the announcements to be more annoying than anything. I know a lot of cruisers find the CD to be very important. Not me! I prefer they just do their job, make sure there are things to do onboard should we want things to do, and not be too terribly intrusive with the FUN FUN FUN SPEND SPEND SPEND announcements.

But since I'm doing a B2B, I should probably introduce myself to Risa. I have read good things about her. There are a couple of things I'd like to talk to her about.

Anyone have any idea how to track down/find the CD after boarding? I probably won't go to the Welcome Aboard show, so I won't even know what she looks like!

NCTribeFan, Risa Barnes is very friendly and "out & about" the ship when she is not on stage. She also doesn't spend alot of her time on the PA just enought to get information out to the guest. Last week onboard I went to Guest Services and they called her cell phone and I got to talk to her then. She will also be at the Captains meet & greet on the first formal night, hope this helps. Quick review while on the way home. Dining room was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised since last time I wasnt impressed. We had anytime dining, never had to wait. Wiwik (waitress in celebration was wonderful. She was great with our toddler too. Pool Deck too crowded and too loud with Dj music. Pool standing room only unless you go early or late. Loungers available on upper decks. Serenity was nice. Waterpark great for kids and adults no loud music. Guess that song was the most fun. They did it 3 different nights w. different songs. By the bar near casino. Deck party was fun. It was veeeery hot on deck during party. If u are a late luncher, pay attention to buffet closing time because they will pack up on the dot at 2:30, even removed platters right in front of people! The mgr made them put it back to let people fix there plate. Freeport port area has been built up a lot since April. Snack bars, Sparky's , etc. ok were home. More later

Thanks Nicky. I'll make a note of Wiwik's name, too. I have Thompson down as a great ATD waiter.

I don't go in pools and only visit the Serenity deck. The Lido pool just holds no appeal for me. If I'm near the pool area, I'm up one deck where there is seating along the part of the ship that "juts out" between lifeboats. There's even some shade up there. This was shortly after boarding, so there weren't many people there yet. I do have to wonder if some board the ship wearing their swimsuits, though!

d&w - cruisedeckplans dot com shows she's due for drydock 1/26/13 - 2/8/13 but mentions only routine maintenace. But that schedule may have come out ages ago.

Less than three weeks now for my B2B!!!

Her section is on the right of the hostess station. She said she is going homein October for a 2 month break. Don't know beginning or end. Nctribe, our pool only looked like that embarkation day. After that they all were sitting side by side with there feet in the water with a drink in their hand. And others in the water with a drink.

I wish I could go on the back to back with you! Back to work today was crazy. A weeks worth of work waiting on me

Wiwik will probably be on vacation, but I'll ask about her. Someone else raved about Thompson and said he was wonderful.

I've never done ATD, but thought it might be fun to try as a solo.

Yeah, it is a small pool. But the only pool I've ever set foot in on a ship is the one in the spa on Glory. My sea days are for finding somewhere relatively peaceful and quiet (nearly impossible to do without a balcony or staying holed up in my cabin, which I'm not going to do).

My cruise buddy called last night and said a friend told her yesterday she'd really like to come with us, so I may go from solo on Leg 1 to sharing the same inside cabin with 2 other females on Leg 2. I may be spending even more time out on the Serenity Deck that I thought! :p

I told her I was fine with it. I mean, I did two weeks to Hawaii with 3 in a cabin. And this woman is much younger than us, so she'll automatically get to climb into the upper bunk.

Gotta call my PVP. I did a quick search last night for 3 in-a-cabin and a few came up. Our cabin is actually for 4, so if they aren't at max capacity, and they shouldn't be, we should be able to add her.

Just off the fantasy while at the past guest party the CD announced the the fantasy is going into dry dock to get the 2.0 upgrades does anyone have any info when that will happen the CD said when it would be but I missed it

we're going on Fantasy for last cruise before dry dock, Jan 19-26. Should be interesting to see how things go. My vacation fell in that range, or else I might have waited for her to come out of dry dock!

I have all my toiletries, my nightie, a swimsuit, a change of clothes, AND a bottle of wine in my carryon. Yes, it's heavy!

But I just know that the one time that I don't carryon all that stuff will be the one time my luggage doesn't make it to my cabin. I did try wheeling everything on for my 6-night solo Bermuda cruise on Glory, and by the time I got to the ship I was thinking "who thought this was such a bright idea?" My arms were about to fall off! :p

I'm the exact opposite, I carry as little as possible on board....most of the time, I don't carry anything, I talk my husband into wearing his black leather pouch around his waist and put our passports, camera, cell phones, and boarding pass in it....everything else gets checked with our 2 suitcases. So far no problems, and I love not having to carry anything on board but my sail and sign card!

Well, I've never had a problem getting my luggage either. But, like I said, I know my "luck" and the one time I decide to just check everything will be the one time that my bags go for a swim or simply never make it to my cabin. And that would be unfortunate.

And I do need something to pad my wine bottle. Again, just in case! :p

Two weeks from right now, I'll anxiously be awaiting boarding! :D

I can now officially start looking at the 10-day forecast for Charleston and the Bahamas.

Several of us on the 10/27 Roll Call got a strange call the other day! All of us were expecting it to be the Upsell Fairy, but it was really the Travel Insurance Fairy! :(

My PVP knows I don't buy Carnival's insurance but purchase my own through a 3rd party. I'm sure that's noted in my profile somewhere because he always says "I know you'll be buying your own insurance, right?" when I book.

Oh well. Guess Carnival isn't going to upgrade me to the Owner's Suite free of charge after all. :p

So envious of you...10 days. We've started the double-digit dance to our January cruise. First time on the Fantasy and I'm looking forward to new sights and getting lost on board (don't ask...I always go the wrong direction, on the wrong deck, to the wrong place!!)

Have a great cruise!!

We're VIFPs who usually sail out of Fl. Decided to try Charleston this year. having not spent any time in Chas since the early 80s, I want to thank everyone who has contributed for the wealth of info.

As of now, we're looking t staying at Patriot's Pt and grabbing a taxi to/from terminal.

It's 73 days and about 6 hours before we sail. :)

Well, I personally don't like the shows. Don't go to the comedy shows except once in a while, and I certainly don't go to the passenger talent shows.

But I do love Ticket to Ride. Hey, I was an impressionable young girl when The Beatles came along. I can't help it! :D

There is something every evening.

The Fantasy-class may be older, smaller ships, but there really just isn't that much difference in any of them, imho. I haven't been on the newest ships (and have no plans to do so), but I've been on Triumph, Victory and Glory twice. The only thing I like more about them is the Fish & Chips on Glory. I dislike the big TVs, the stadium seating pool area, and the closed-in aft pools. Personally, the Spirit-class is my favorite.

I love the Fantasy-class.

Is Ticket to Ride still on the Fantasy? That was my favorite Carnival show ever. OH YAY!!! Can't wait 88 days
