westlab Posted April 16, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2010 A group of 4 of will be on the Volendam in August. What is the best way to communicate with each other while on the ship. We are all independent and know that we may want to go our separate ways at times.
maxout Posted April 16, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2010 I have seen some use walkie-talkies but frankly they are sometimes annoying to others. We usually agree to meet at specific times/places, mark the daily program for items we may attend and stick it to the wall with refer magnets or leave postits on the cabin door or mirror. Rare Copper10-8 Posted April 16, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 16, 2010 Saw several notes/post-it's on cabin doors on Oosterdam last week!
westlab Posted April 16, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted April 16, 2010 All good ideas for communicating with friends while on cruise. HAL does mention in their brochure that travelers can remain in contact via cell phone while on ship, but I have not checked into that.

Just make sure that all of you know to check to see if any messages are recorded.
