Stingray city sandbar closed today

Just received a message from the tour operator saying the sandbar was closed by the marine police for safety reasons. The wind will be high this week and I hope it's open for those arriving in the next few days!

Yes, excursions to the sandbar do not look promising this week. Grand Cayman' news service (cayCompass) is saying that Grand Cayman will be under a small craft warning through at least Friday as windy conditions (up to 20 knots) are affecting the area. (Small craft warning=small craft are asked to remain in safe harbor.):(

Hope it all works out, this happened to us once and we had a SRC trip scheduled. The operator had us snorkel near the ship/Georgetown and it was fine. plenty of fish and a ship wreck, just no stingrays.
