Livorno to Florence

Has anyone taken a taxi within the past year from Livorno to Florence. There are 7 of us, do they have van taxis if so do you recall the cost? Did you use the driver to come back?

The odds of finding an 8 person van at the port are very risky at best! You would be wise to pre-arrange for a van/driver for the day which will probably cost in the range of 400 - 500 Euros.

Thank you very much. I did prearrange I was just thinking that if I could get a taxi cheaper I might look into that mode of transportation. I would take the train, but there are to many variables that could happen including strikes. I was on the metro in Italy once and the train stopped they went on strike. LOL what a joke 5 minutes later they were back to work. To take the train seems to be too much of a hassle.
