bbwex Posted May 13, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2010 We are planning a trip to the Galapagos and we have a couple of choices for ships. I found the Nina and Athala II which are two new catamarans, and our TA has suggested we use Latour for our plans. They have/use the MV Monserrat, the catamaran Anahi, the M/Y Grace, M/V Galapgos Explorer II, and the M/Ys Eric, Letty and Flamingo. Anyone have any advice? dileep Posted May 13, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 13, 2010 We were on the Letty in Oct 2008 and loved it. We chose it because it was one of few ships that could go to Genovesa Island where you see red footed boobies. We had only 20 passengers and 2 naturalist guides. So we could all go ashore at the same time where only 20 could land at one time. It is not luxurious but cozy and the service was excellent. It did get a bit rough a couple of nights crossing the Equator, but we had a great time. Check out

It carried only 20 passengers, a small crew & on-board naturalists. These sized yachts go to some of the more remote & less visited Islands. Part of the fun was daily zodiac landings to explore the Islands, snorkel and/or dive amid some wondrous critters. All arrangements for our Galapagos cruise & Ecuador land trip were made thru Metropolitan Touring. Highly recommended.
bbwex Posted May 15, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted May 15, 2010 Well, I did a nice job of spelling "Galapagos" didn't I? Thanks for the answers. I guess it's time to start making definite plans.
