Destiny or Splendor decision...?

Hi -

I would like any input on our next cruise. We are debating a 5 day cruise on Destiny to Half Moon, Grand Turk, Nassau, balcony room, OR a 7 day Mexican Riveria on the Splendor, oceanview room.

We have actually been to all of these ports on different ships, so the decision is really based on the ships themselves, and balcony vs. OV.... The 7 day OV is roughly the same price as the 5 day balcony. Any thoughts would be appreciated. We did love the balcony, but 2 more days is great too...decisions, decisons.:)

Destiny is older than conquest class, so smaller than the current conquest class vs. splendor which is a newer class than conquest class.

older vs. 2nd newest ship splendor .. Id pick 7 day splendor

I dont care where they go if the price would be about the same to get to the port.

Not even having been on Splendor before, I would still pick her. Shes still very new, and has a supper club. The Destiny was a nice enough ship, but looked every one of her 14 years.

However, in Destiny's favor: Half Moon Cay is the best Caribbean port Carnival goes to, hands down IMHO.

I agree about Half Moon, that is why this is such a hard decision. We thought Half Moon was the most wonderful place. Plus it would be a balcony. So - balcony vs. OV, Half Moon vs. Mexico, 5 days vs. 7 days - guess it comes down to the 2 extra days...

I agree about Half Moon, that is why this is such a hard decision. We thought Half Moon was the most wonderful place. So far we have been on the Imagination and the Pride as far as comparisons.

I think Liberty still has an Eastern route that stops at HMC, if so that might be one to look at. We did that cruise last year and it was excellent. Plus you get calls at San Juan, Grand Turk and St. Thomas!
