Atlantis free areas - recent changes?

I've been reading some recent threads and it sounds like less areas are free. Does anyone have a list of what is currently available for free? Also, someone mentioned that after a certain time more areas are free. What areas? What time?

We will be there from noon until 6 the next morning so we won't be in a rush to get back. There are 5 of us - thinking we may get a room at Comfort Inn for 3 - to get the access passes. Two in the group may not go to Atlantis for the water - only to the casino and free areas. Then all of us will have access to the room during the day.

Would it be worth it for the 2 to get passes to the Digs? What does that cover that isn't free?

During the daytime, the marina Village, lobbies, shoppes and casino are open to the public. The aquarium "windows" at the Great Hall of water used to be open, but now have security at the top of the stairs preventing non-guests from viewing the aquarium sections for free.

After the pools are closed (7pm in the summer/6 in the winter months). The guards have been gone and the aquaium and DIGS have been free to any and all. Coming this fall, there will be construction in this area, so I'm guessing this will no longer be the case. Noone knows for sure until we see what construction has taken place and what new policies will take affect.

This seems like a good idea. Keep in mind that if you all want to use the room, you'll have to sneak the others in since you only paid for 3. Room allow only 4 ppl. Just don't get caught.

Digs passes ($35) covers the Aquariums, the Predator Lagoon (viewing tubes) and a tour of the grounds. (it does NOT include the beach, pools or slides.)

They will not be able to hang out with you near the pools or slides. Different bracelets.
