Has anyone been to Anguilla from St. Martin? My brother recommends it, but would like to hear from others.

Anguilla has a lot to offer, but I wouldn't even consider it unless You have been to St. Maarten before (or are going to be on the island for several days).

 

Go to St. Maarten to enjoy St. Maarten/St. Martin.

Thank you for your opinion! It was my brother who tried to steer me to Anguilla, but he had aleady been to St. Martin before. We have a car, with 5 teenagers. Where would the best beaches be, or the "must see" places for a first timer? Not afraid of nudity, though I won't be one of them!

Depending on how much time you have on the island, I'd suggest:

 

Orient; just because. Must do!

 

Dawn beach; great beach and good food available at M's B's. Avoid if high winds, as the waves can become a problem.

 

Maho Beach; for the planes, especially between ~1 - 3 pm. You can check FlyteComm for recent arrival schedules.

 

Cole Bay Hill overlook of Simpson Bay area; great view.

 

Monte Vista photo op; catch a shot of your ship from high above.

 

Shopping on Front Street; great values on everything from diamonds (especially if high-end) to tablecloths to liquor.
