JOHN 57 Posted June 21, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2010 My wife and I will be visiting Venice on Norwegian Cruise Line Gem, and I would like to know, if there is any local Italian brewed beer, that I might try. I always like to sample the local beer. Thank you, John
lisiamc Posted June 21, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 21, 2010 My husband likes Birra Moretti. Peroni makes a few different ones too. These are not strictly local to Venice, but they are Italian. Lisa

ab0si Posted June 21, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2010 Italian beers, to put it mildly (something of a bad joke since they tend to be VERY light weight in taste) are nothing special. The best Italian beers are those brewed in the German part of the nation (Trentino-Alto Adige which includes the South Tyrol) although Theresianer from Trieste is quite drinkable. Forst is likely be the easiest South Tyrol beer you can find in Venice. Also, Moretti and Peroni are easy to find outside of Europe, so why bother getting one in Italia? SmokinActuary Posted June 21, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 21, 2010 Moretti makes Moretti La Rossa Birra Doppio Malto, a double bock, that is worth seeking out http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/10161/871/?ba=bros
