If you are flying out after a cruise that is delayed returning to homeport and miss your flight ( flight not booked thru carnival) would Carnival cruise insurance cover this?

Depends on the wording of the policy. Most likely would be covered under "Trip Delay".

However, it would still be up to the person traveling to pay for the new flights or change fees, plus meals, plus hotels, THEN file for reimbursement.

Have to edit. Did Carnivals Insurance cover the cost of flights or did it only cover the cost of the cruise? Huge difference

Pretty sure that if you didn't book the air through Carnival, their insurance will NOT cover it. Another reason to purchase insurance elsewhere.

Carnival actually claims that independently purchased airfare is covered by the Berkely Policy and you could read that into the Policy - but it's not well-published and very obscurely stated, such that I wouldn't rely on it and as you suggest, rely on the so-called 3rd party Policies. ken
