ciship Posted July 4, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2010 Has anyone booked both 6232 AND the cabin NEXT door? (or the same design on deck 7 and 8) on the Legend? I have booked both cabin 8232 and the cabin next door 8230. My Carnival PVP told me that the divider could not be opened on any of the Spirit class ships, but I learned yesterday that this is not true. My question is......if we get the divider opened b/t 8232 and 8230, will the divider really obstruct a lot of view since the balcony is SO huge? I was told they have to bolt the divider to the railing and it obstructs view, but I cannot imagine this being the case with a balcony so big?? Help?? zqvol Posted July 4, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 4, 2010 You have to decide for yourself if you consider the view obstructed. Imagine it this way. You have a 20 foot long space with a 4 foot piece of plywood stuck in the middle of it. Is the view blocked? Sure it is, but is it enough to matter? Probably not, because on both sides of the obstruction you have a nice view.
Retired Sparky Posted July 4, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 4, 2010 One balcony will be wide open and the other will be 1/2 blocked we do this every cruise next Jan we have 5 rooms together will open all. hope you are the lucky one with the full view. gail811 Posted July 4, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 4, 2010 Here are pictures of the Legend 7256/7258/7260 opened. 7260 is a handicap cabin; we booked that for my sister, then my mom and I took the one next door, my other sister and nieces next to us. It made for a HUGE balcony. I do know that the same layout on one of the other decks is MUCH narrower.
klmorg Posted July 4, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 4, 2010 We had connecting balcony cabins 7232 & 7228 on the Legend, and had the balcony dividers opened. It's not that obstructive at all... we thoroughly enjoyed it! You do have to go to the Guest Services desk when you get on board & sign up to have the divider opened; people from each cabin have to be there & sign. They'll open it the next day (first sea day). Enjoy!!!
