NJCRUISER99 Posted February 7, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2005 Our ship Adventure of the Sea is leaving at 10Pm and we should be arriving on the same day around 2Pm. Do we still have time to do some sightseeing after we check our belongings in the ship? If so, please give us some ideas we to go. Thanks. Rare geoherb Posted February 7, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2005 We've never felt like we had time to do any sightseeing on embarkation day when sailing from San Juan. Do you know which pier you'll be sailing from? On our most recent cruise from there, we left from a pier that was not right at Old San Juan. It's not easy walking distance to the places you'd want to see--Fort San Cristobal and the shops of Old San Juan. If you're leaving from the pier in Old San Juan, you would be within easy walking distance of these.
springtxbill Posted February 7, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 7, 2005 I believe RCCL mostly uses the Pan American pier which is close to nothing and is on the other side of the harbor from Old Town etc. You will have to get a cab to go anywhere. bUU Posted February 8, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 8, 2005 Beyond that, there is a substantial amount of construction going on in the area that prevents safe pedestrian access from the Pam Am pier. In a year or so, it should be possible to walk to Fort San Cristobal, for example, but for now, it's rather unsafe.
NJCRUISER99 Posted February 8, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted February 8, 2005 Thanks for the info. I guess most likely we will stay in the ship and relax.:)
